Employment In The Digital Economy

The One Laptop per Child Project is a key project that aims at the enhancement of education through the introduction of technology in primary and secondary schools of Sierra Leone. It also allows both primary and secondary school student’s early access to computer skills and computer science education while expanding their knowledge on specific subjects like science, mathematics, engineering technology and information and communication technology. This is a fundamental step towards the building of a knowledge based economy.

To create educational opportunities every boy-child and girl-child of Sierra Leone by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning. When children have access to this type of tool they get engaged in their own education. They learn, share, create, and collaborate. They become connected to each other, to the world and to a brighter future.
